Summer Bucket List | Progress Report

With this week being the last full week of summer, I figured it was time for a Summer Bucket List progress report. Well...really more like a final report. Although I didn't accomplish all of my goals (surprise, surprise), I did make pretty good progress on most of them. Here's the rundown:

1. Shake my pregnant boot-ay with my ladies at the Mrs. Carter Show. CHECK.

A few of my girlfriends (and my hubby, my girl Robin, and her hubby Derrick) made the 3.5 hour trek to Oklahoma City right after the 4th of July to see Bey live in concert. It was an uh-may-zing concert. She rocked it from the moment she stepped onto the stage until the moment she walked off...nearly 2 hours later. She is a true performer and, whether you're a Beyonce fan or not, you CAN NOT deny that she kills it every single time she graces the stage.

2. Host a surprise daddy-to-be shower. FAIL.
I still want to do something for my hubby. He so deserves it for putting up with me and some of my unrealistic demands the past 9 months. So stay tuned.

3. Eat my groceries and better plan my meals. CHECK.
Pretty sure the world knows how much eMeals has changed my life. Since starting eMeals, I typically cook 2-3 meals a week. Which is a HUGE improvement for us. The recipes are usually pretty simple and so yummy. And my hubby is always super appreciative for a home cooked meal.

4. Start a journal for my baby girl. CHECK.

Finally bought a journal and wrote my first entry last week. As I was writing, I fought back tears. I don't take for granted the extreme privilege it is to be a mother. I pray my words really encourage her heart one day.

5. "Hi, I'm your new neighbor" gifts. FAIL.
So yeah...didn't happen. Yet. Hoping to get around to this sometime soon, though.

6. Host a small house warming. FAIL.
I hear you can host a house warming up to one year after moving in to a new home. So technically I have until May 2014 to get this done. Hubby's birthday is in February so a joint house warming / birthday gathering may or may not be in the works. Stay tuned.

7. Buy, start and finish The Home Experience. CHECK...kind of.

So I bought the book. And it's sitting on my coffee table. The starting and finishing part will happen at some point.

8. Start and finish baby girl's nursery. CHECK.
The nursery is officially complete. Can't wait to share pics with you. In the mean time, here's a little sneak peek!

9. Rehab a few pieces of used furniture. CHECK.

Check out my post with before & after pics here.

10. Get going on my Project 52 challenge. FAIL...sort of.
Although I haven't quite gotten back into the challenge, I have been prioritizing time with the Lord in the Word a lot more.

Final tally...6 CHECKS and 4 FAILS. Not 100% but not horrible either.

Did you have any summer goals? How did you do?

Comments

  1. I've been able to check a few things off my list but not as much as I would have wanted. There's still an entire quarter left and since it doesn't get cold in Louisiana until mid-October or the end of October, I still have some time. Congratulations on the birth of your baby! God bless you!
