NEW Blog Series: Thursday Thrills, Throwbacks & Threads

NEW Blog Series! I know you're excited...I know. :)

Starting today, I will share my THRILLS, THROWBACKS, and THREADS of the week. This is quite a random combo, right? I agree. But why not summarize a bunch of fun topics in one weekly post?! Genius. I'm a genius. And I'm humble, too. LOL! Just kidding...kind of.

Let's see if I can break this thing down for you:

THRILLS

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart. - Psalm 32:11

The older wiser and more life experience I get under my belt, I've realized 2 truths: 1. life is short {James 4:14}, and 2. I have choices in life. If someone cuts me off in traffic, the way I respond is my choice. That person didn't MAKE ME angry or MAKE ME curse them. The bottom line is that I own my response. Period. So rather than use my daily energy to make crazy choices and blame other people for MY crazy choices, I am learning to choose joy and simply be glad in the Lord. Every morning I wake up with air in my lungs is reason enough to be joyful. So I will share my joyful moments or THRILLS of the week with you.

Disclaimer: The traffic example above is hypothetical. OK...maybe it's not. But I'm working on it. ;)

THROWBACKS

We do not know the true value of our moments until they have undergone the test of memory. - Georges Duhamel

I was born in the early '80s, but I consider myself a '90s kid. The music, the fashion, the people and events that made a mark on history...the '90s was definitely an interesting decade. I also had a fab childhood. I don't take for granted the solid, "normal" upbringing I had. So each week I will journey back in time and share memorable moments or THROWBACKS with you. And get ready because I have the BEST memory. Should be good.

THREADS

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous. - Coco Chanel

By no means am I claiming to be a fashion expert. I just like what I like and I totally heart fashion. I think I would describe my style as casual chic. I'm also a minimalist - my style isn't daring. But I'm willing to explore and figure out how to make a trend my own. If I can't make a 'hot right now' look work for me, you won't see me rockin' it. Each week I will explore my love for fashion or THREADS by way of Pinterest pins, style blog features, personal outfit recreations, and maybe an occasional write up on my favorite style icons.

I'm excited about this series! And hope you are, too. :)

  1. Great read!!!!
Thrills- This is so refreshing!! I went to hear Joyce Meyer at Lakewood and she talked about the same thing. Just simply celebrating life!! It has been my focus every since! "What we focus on is what we magnify. So we should think about the possibilities in your life and not the problems." Words of wisdom! Romans 12:21 advises us to overcome evil with good, and we do that by simply making a choice!

Throwbacks- lol!!! I'm super excited about this! Since I grew up in a black hole maybe I can learn a thing or two!!!!
Happy birthday to your fab mommy!!!

Threads- you have always been a fashionista lol!! You have it down!! I'm excited to read what you come up with!!!!

P.S. Thanks for doing this, I loooooove it!!!!!! =)
