Today I'm linking up with Sami, Molly, and Patti for my Weekend Round-Up!
Our weekends are always jam packed with STUFF - we're always running around doing something. And are usually still exhausted when Monday rolls around. :| I keep telling myself that I need to do more resting on the weekend and less moving...it hasn't happened yet though.
Anyway, although the weekend was jam packed, it was a lot of fun!
Friday
After work, we attended an event hosted by our church's marriage ministry at a really trendy rooftop restaurant in downtown Plano. It was a perfect night for it - can't beat 80 degree weather in November. We mixed, mingled, ate, and listened to the musical stylings of the live band outside, and DJ inside. We Q even danced. He tried to get me to dance, but I wasn't feeling it...and I was OK with being called lame.
Here's the one pic we have from the night. And I think it pretty much captures the essence of the entire night. ha! Love him.
Saturday
Q and 3 of the nurses he works with participated in the 5k Foam Fest benefiting Shared Hope International; a charity seeking to bring awareness to and end human trafficking. I am not ashamed to say that I don't do mud...or running...so I opted out of this one, but I did tag along to support them.
There was a lot going on - including the cupid shuffle. There was a group of ladies who lost their minds when the song came on. Gotta love simple line dances...even the most uncoordinated person can usually do them.
He wanted them to take a silly pic, but they really weren't in to it. So he came up with a compromise. And it went something like this. "OK guys, I'm going to count to 3...and on 3 just make a silly face or pose, and Angela will quickly take the pic". Look how serious they look?!
There were a couple of vendors at the race. 7 Eleven was one of them. And this guy was walking around with this coffee contraption on his back. On one side, he had blue cups for Obama supporters...and red on the other side for Romney. He walked up to me, asked me if I wanted coffee, and said "I know you want a blue cup". Umm...OK. What he really wanted to say was "you're black so I know you're voting for the black President". His assumption wasn't entirely wrong (with the exception of the black part), so I did drink my coffee in my blue Obama cup proudly.
This was my OOTD (outfit of the day).
After the race, I met up with my good friend, Daenna, for manis and girl talk. Daenna is hilarious to the power of 10...always love catching up with her. She spent a solid 20 minutes trying to figure out the right color...so she settled on 4 and decided she would narrow it down before it was time for polishing.
Here's the final result. I think we were both pretty satisfied with our color choices.
The night ended with a 30th birthday gathering for our friend, Lance, given by his wife, Catherine.
It was a reunion of sorts. We met Lance & Cat at church a few years ago. Our church is growing like crazy with 4 service options (and adding a 5th one in January!) so I hardly see people anymore. It was great to see everybody...the party was a lot of fun!
When it was time to sing to the birthday boy, Cat was asking around for any 'real' singers to lead us in song. Corey volunteered but Lance wasn't in to it...he refused to let a man sing to him...it was pretty funny.
"How you doin'??"
We actually planned to see the new Denzel movie, Flight, after lunch but I was beyond exhausted. So we just headed home and I FINALLY got my nap in. I love a good nap. Naps are heaven sent. Seriously.

Here is my hubby's attire for the race. I asked him several times if he was sure he wanted to wear these tiny shorts AND work boots...and he insisted each time. If you know Q, this little get-up probably doesn't surprise you. :)

I was too busy laughing at the shenanigans and forgot to take the picture. So he counted again, and this is the end result. Love it.
The beginning of the race. When he saw me, he got so excited! ha! (Side note: the girl in lime green smacking her friend in the face with foam...not OK).
They did it! Wet, sweaty, and covered in dirt. But they did it.

My hair is natural (relaxer-free). It was super humid out there and this is what happened...a frizzy mess. I figured I could take one for the team this time. I did go straight back to the salon afterward though...not even gonna lie.

I recently pinned an a-maze nail color by OPI called Miami Beet. So imagine my excitement when I found a very similar shade at Francesca's for $3 cheaper. Holler.

So they found a nice young lady to sing...with Corey's approval and supervision, of course. :)
While she was singing, this was happening. He was really focused on that chicken wing.
Sunday
My BFF, Jaclyn, and her hubby were in town from Houston for her alma mater's homecoming festivities. So we attended an earlier service and met up with them for lunch afterward. And of course, we had a blast. We always have a great time together. Love the Malone's.

So THAT folks was my weekend. Jam packed, but I loved every minute of it...especially the nap. ;)
Have an amazing week!
