Daniel Fast Preparation + Channeling My Inner 'Jenny from the Block'

Happy Sunday, LOVES!

It was cold & rainy in Dallas this weekend.

Hubby had drill (he's an ARMY reservist), so ladies weekend, it was.
Kendall spent the holidays with her grandparents on her mom's side, so it's been a month or so since we last saw her. She was definitely missed this Christmas.

I spent the better part of the day on Saturday doing laundry and cleaning.
Later on, we headed to a birthday party, attended Saturday service, and met up with some friends for dinner after church.

Our church starts a 21-day Daniel Fast tomorrow, so I did a little grocery shopping today. I used to REALLY dread this fast because I am the ultimate carnivore and have a serious sweet tooth. But over time, I've changed my perspective on fasting and kind of look forward to this particular fast. Partly because a simple 'Daniel Fast' search on Pinterest has expanded our meal options. But also because it's a great opportunity for clean eating and to essentially deny myself of things that sometimes hold me back from a growing relationship with the Lord.

In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks. I did not eat any tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed. Daniel 10:2-3

I wasn't planning to snap any OOTD pics today.
But I happened to walk by a mirror on my way out the door earlier and laughed at myself.
Because suddenly I started singing....

...Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got
I'm still, I'm still Jenny for the Block...

Heyyyy!

Doesn't this outfit SCREAM Jenny from the Block!?
haha! I feel so...urban. ;)
