Maroon + Mustard Stripes

I haven't been feeling too well the past week or so. But for whatever reason, putting on real clothes the other day actually made me feel a little better. :)

This outfit has been in my repertoire for awhile. All of the pieces are old so it, unfortunately, has taken a back seat to other newer pieces/outfits. But we've been experiencing unseasonably warm weather here in Dallas so I figured I needed to work it in before sweater and boot season is over.

It was a busy day so I wasn't able to take any pics until the end of the day. This is how I wore it all day...chambray tucked in the front (out in the back) with the leopard belt.

So imagine my shock when I looked at the first round of pics and realized that my thighs look very hamhock-ish. Very.

This was my reaction. :|

What can I say? I have big juicy legs. It's hereditary. :)

So I untucked the shirt and instantly liked the outfit 10x better. Too bad I didn't realize it until the end of the day. ha! Ah well. I felt cute, so I guess that's all that matters, right?

  1. I havnt been feeling well either. Somehting is going around, some sinus/upper respiratory something or other that everyone seems to have... i had the same discussion with myself this morning... i dont want to dress up cute today but i knew doing so would make me feel better, and it does make me feel more productive! and your thighs most definately do not look ham-ish. you look like a gorgeous stylish woman with a great figure.

  14. Totally with you on the hamhockish legs hahah. Sometimes I go a whole day tucked in before catching my reflection and realizing how wide my hips are looking on my smallish body. So awkward. Love your outfit though!

  15. Hi Angela I am a new follower! I love how you pieced the outfit together! I understand having thick thighs! I have learned to embrace them and like you and I have learned how to style an outfit so it flatters my curves. This is so funny because I remember earlier this month I stood in the mirror for about 30 minutes going back and forth about tucking in a shirt because I was like they make my thighs look huge, but then I kind of liked how slim it made my waist look with the shirt tucked in. Your beautiful and have a great eye for fashion! & LoL at Ne Ne's faces, I have had those moments too when looking at pictures of myself! I hope you continue to feel better!

  16. Dressing up always makes me feel better too! I think you should embrace your legs! A lot of men love a girl with thighs! I used to have thunder thighs in high school from dancing a lot and I lost them in college... sounds crazy but I kinda miss em! They were just something about me that made me :) I love this outfit on you... tucked in and out! I love that you added the yellow with the maroon!
