My favorite twin, Tamera Mowry-Housley, had her baby on Monday! She's gonna be the best mama. Can't wait to see pics of the baby!

Are you kidding me, Starbucks? As if delicious coffee and pastries wasn't good enough. Then you decide to make yourselves 10x cooler by introducing wine AND vittles (I love that word!) after 4 p.m. each day! Happy hour at Starbucks...Genius. Seriously...who is the master mind behind this idea? I feel a girls' night coming on soon!
THROWBACKS
My gorgeous mom will be celebrating a birthday this Saturday! Boy oh boy, have we had an interesting ride the past 30 or so years. I was a tad sneaky as a kid, then turned into a complete and unruly nightmare of a teenager, then had a few rough years in my early 20's as I tried to find myself and my independence. Then something very unexpected happened when I turned 25...I started to actually like my mom. And appreciate her and all of the many sacrifices she made as a wife and mother. Since then, she has become one of my very best friends. We still have our differences...quite often actually. But it never takes long for either of us to get over ourselves. And before long, we're back to being besties.

I was reminded of something this week: beauty is fleeting. What's on the inside is what really counts, right? You can have all of the pretty clothes, shoes, and jewels in the world...but if the inside is ugly, what do you really have? Proverbs 31:30 says, Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Don't get me wrong...I love pretty clothes and shoes as much as the next girl...but I don't want to prioritize or desire those things over filling my spirit with God's truth, which in turn allows me to be a loving influence and light to those around me. And that, my friends, is true beauty.

ReplyDeleteThrills- This is so refreshing!! I went to hear Joyce Meyer at Lakewood and she talked about the same thing. Just simply celebrating life!! It has been my focus every since! "What we focus on is what we magnify. So we should think about the possibilities in your life and not the problems." Words of wisdom! Romans 12:21 advises us to overcome evil with good, and we do that by simply making a choice!
Throwbacks- lol!!! I'm super excited about this! Since I grew up in a black hole maybe I can learn a thing or two!!!!
