Weekend Round-Up

Today I'm linking up with Sami, Molly, Jenny, and Patti for my weekend update!

Friday

I spent most of the day traveling home on Friday. Matter of fact, I didn't get home until almost midnight. My trip to Southern Cali was a success, though. It's always a good thing when you can accomplish a bunch of things in such a short trip. Looking forward to going back and spending a long weekend in Laguna Beach!

This was my travel-friendly OOTD. Comfortable, but not too casual for 'Casual Friday' in the office. I usually wear flats shoes I can slip on and off when I travel, so I was a little nervous about the potential hassle of getting the boots on and off through security, but it wasn't that bad.

watch: MK (gift)

Before I move on, I have a confession to make. Yes, another confession. I was extremely hesitant about posting this pic. I used to scoff at people who took self-portraits and constantly posted them all over facebook, instagram and twitter, but....I get it now. :) Since becoming a blogger, I see now that if you want to get an outfit pic and there are no photographers husbands around, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Saturday

I spent the entire day cleaning and doing laundry. A good friend of mine once told me (pre-marriage) that "wives need wives". I didn't quite get that BEFORE I got married, but now...yep, totally get it. When you're working all week (or traveling in my case), the household stuff doesn't take care of itself. But I've realized that my home can't take a backseat because I choose to work. Sooo if all else fails, we can always rework the budget to accommodate a housekeeper and a chef! No, but seriously...jokes aside...the thing that scares me the most is adding kids to the mix. I definitely want a kid...or two...but I can't imagine keeping up with my life, church commitments, work, friends, family, and chores...AND my husband's...AND (gasp!) another little person. My friends with kids often tell me that things usually just fall into place...and priorities shift. But it's still a little scary. I know there's no point in worrying about that now though...I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

On Saturday night, we made the trek across town to my parents' house for family bingo night. :) As always, we had a blast. Never a dull moment with my family...never.

My cousin Sharonda recently became a mom...to this precious little pup! How cute is she?! Her name is Mia. And she totally makes me want to go out and get a puppy. But then I quickly snap back to reality. I love dogs and I definitely want a dog one day...but now's not the time. Maybe I can dog sit sometime soon while she's still this tiny and cute.

 Sunday

I serve in the Pre-K class at our church and I was on the schedule this week for the 2 early services. 4 and 5 is such a unique age. I should stop and pray right now for all parents of kids this age. Bless your precious hearts.

This weekend was our weekend with little Miss Kendall. Since I had to be up early, Daddy dressed her. Don't you just love the white dress and stockings...with black shoes. :| But who says you can't wear white after Labor Day? :)

This, my friends, is Kendall...to a "T".  Hand on hip, head tilted, and leg out...gotta love the confidence and sass of little girls.

Later on in the afternoon, we met up with our friends, Derrick & Robin, for Derrick's birthday dinner. These two have quickly become one of our fav couples - love them. Happy birthday, Derrick! (in case you ever read my blog ;)

Hope you too had a great weekend!

xoxo,

  1. Cute outfit! Looks like you had a fun weekend! Are those polka dots on your daughter's dress? I LOVE polka dots. My niece wore a polka dot dress to church yesterday as well and she got so many compliments on it. Have a great Monday!
