Happy Saturday! I hope your day has gotten off to a great start!
Hubby and I are in a program called CARES. CARES seeks to assist apartment communities in making the community feel like home for residents. The CARES team lives in the community and hosts social events each month (i.e., breakfast, bingo, craft night, kids' coloring contest, etc, etc). Separately, we are tasked with building personal relationships with residents, finding unique ways to serve them, and when God opens the door, share our faith and connect people to a local church. It's a 2-year commitment, and we are about 15 months into it.
Each month, we select a building to "hug" by way of Saturday morning breakfast delivery from Chick-fil-A. This morning, we "hugged" building 2 and delivered breakfast to 4 families.
Can you sense the excitement?! Who doesn't love Chick-fil-A?? I sure the heck do.
We've found this to be a simple event, but such a great opportunity to connect one-on-one with the families here. And the gesture is always appreciated.
Being apart of this program has truly been rewarding. Tough at times, but rewarding, nonetheless. And I'm so excited to see the Lord continue to make Himself known here through us & this amazing program.
